Famous for the Palio, the historic horse race, which is held every year on July 2 and August 16, Siena also houses one of the oldest Universities in Europe.  Few regions around the world can boast the presence of four UNESCO sites: the historical towns of Siena, San Gimignano, Pienza and the Val d'Orcia. With its beautiful natural and artistic sites, Siena is an excellent starting point to experience Tuscany.
